King 810 & Slipknot 2014 music videos

What a day! Both King 810 and Slipknot released official music videos from their new albums. Both of them are promising and King 810 are still the “new old Slipknot” imho. (If you’re interested, here’s my previous post about them)

2014 is an awesome year for metalheads!

KING 810 – Fat Around The Heart [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

The first time I’ve heard about this band was from Machine Head’s singer Robb Flynn. “Midwest Monsters” was the 5th in his “best metal albums 2013”  list. I was curious so I checked every band that I didn’t know from that top10 and King 810 was far the most impressive. After my research I found out that this band is basically a ghost. They only appeared on a very few articles and forums and all the comments about them were really, I mean REALLY negative. Violent gigs, broken bones, fights, guns, misbehaviour and no respect at all for anything. As good as the album is as dickheads the members are. But still, there was only a very few info about them, missing facebook page and even no official website. The only fact that I could find out back then is that they’re from Flint, the “murder town”, a very, VERY shitty place, one of the most dangerous cities in the States where you have to have a gun if you want to survive.  Continue reading »

Night Verses – Celestial Fires [Official Music Video]

Night Verses - Celestial Fires [Official Music Video]

Night Verses – Celestial Fires [Official Music Video]

For me Night Verses were the best “newcomer”  (well, they formed in California, 2012) band last year, their debut album “Lift Your Existence” is definitely in my “top 5 metal albums in 2013” list. A perfect mixture of techy, smart (almost jazzy) rock-metal, angry metalcore and supermelodic and beautiful vocals, the rhythm section is completely mind-blowing and deep lyrics. If I had to describe them in one word, I’d say uniqe. Just what missing from the music scene nowadays.

If you don’t know them already, check out their first EP “Out of the Sky” and then the album “Lift Your Existence“.

But first of all, here’s the brand new music video for “Celestial Fires”:

(HUN/ENG) Full album stream: The Algorithm – Octopus4 (Basick records)

The Algorithm - Octopus4

The Algorithm – Octopus4 album cover

UKDjent metal influenced electro-techno-dubstep, or electro-techno-dubstep influenced djent metal? Well, more like the former, as this album is 80% pure electronics. Bloody weird stuff, but still, there’s much more on the electro than the headbanger side. If you like smooth glitch-tech-dubstep sound, unexpected genre mashups, heavy techno bass, and (of course) djent metal: you gotta give it a listen. The Octopus4 is probably one of the strangest releases so far this year but with Basick records you know that they are going to push the envelope in terms of experimentation without any let up on the quality.

‘synthesiz3r’, the first track to be taken from ‘OCTOPUS4’, the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2012’s critically acclaimed ‘Polymorphic Code’, brought to you french electro-prog mashup king The Algorithm, out June 2nd 2014 on BASICK.

“The Algorithm could easily have ended up as a little bleepy curiosity on the periphery of the tech-metal scene. Octopus4 shows there is more — much more — to The Algorithm than a synthesizer having a djent-inspired mental breakdown. If Polymorphic Code put Remi on the map, Octopus4 has consolidated his position” 90% – The Monolith

“The Algorithm’s holistic and all-inclusive approach to music and songwriting is something to be treasured in a world where arbitrary lines are drawn in the sand, dictating where one can and cannot go in the course of a song…Instead of painting himself into a corner, OCTOPUS4 broadens the horizons, and where Gallego goes from here is unknown. The possibilities however, are endless.” 4/5 – Heavy Blog Is Heavy
