Kötelező évvégi toplista következik, szokásosan eklektikus és műfajfüggetlen top10.

Irgalmatlan mennyiségű anyag futott be idén, meglepően sok új, friss banda van, ami a lehető legjobb hír egy zenebuzi számára. A “letöltés megöli a zenét” érv mára már egyértelműen és bizonyítottan baromság (az Iron Maiden például oda megy turnézni, ahol a legtöbbet torrentezik az IM albumokat), több zene készült idén, mint amit normális ember befogadni képes; jobban virágzik a zeneipar, mint valaha. Jómagam idén visszatértem a gyökereimhez és túlnyomó többségben agyletépős gitárzúzdát hallgatok, de ettől függetlenül folyamatosan követem a régi és új kedvenceket, így természetesen akad néhány különlegesség is a tarsolyban. Burial – Rival Dealer (EP)(2013) – stream the whole EP!

Brand new EP from Burial, one of the most interesting things in electronic music nowadays. This guy lives for music, he don’t care about the fame, money or anything, only tunes in the underground.

If you don’t know him (well, you should), check out these interviews (there’s only 3 on the interwebz) to see the passionate musical genius behind the sound. If someone can transform music into words, that’s him. He has the skill to produce such amazing music and describe them, but he’s hiding in the dark, writing tunes. Nobody know his identity, except his family and less than 5 people.

Beardyman: The Polyphonic Me

Beardyman, “ruler of beats and destroyer of dance floors,” has developed a real-time music-production system that places live looping at the center of a new musical paradigm.

Csalódván, hogy nem képes két hangjegyet egy időben elénekelni, a zenei feltaláló, Beardyman épített egy gépet, mely lehetővé teszi számára, hogy a saját maga által keltett hangokkal végtelenített visszajátszásokat és rétegeket képezzen. Tekintettel arra, hogy könnyűszerrel elővarázsolja mindennek a hangját, kezdve a síró babától a légy zümmögéséig, nem beszélve arról, hogy majdhogynem az összes elképzelhető zenei hangszert utánozni képes, ez elég sok különböző hang. Dőljön hátra és hagyja, hogy e káprázatos előadás hangjai magával ragadják.

In June 2011, pioneering dubstep/drum and bass producers, Nero, teamed up with the world-famous BBC Philharmonic. The result is this unique blend between two music genres. Orchestrated and conducted by Joe Duddell (joeduddell.co.uk). Performed live at MediaCity in Salford.

Hosted by BBC Radio 1 (The Zane Lowe Show) and BBC Radio 1Xtra (MistaJam).

Egy kis Nine Inch Nails történelem a “Hesitation Marks (2013)” apropóján

2008 volt az a dátum, amikor utoljára hallottunk a Nine Inch Nailsről egy stúdió album formájában. Ez volt a The Slip. Egy évvel később a banda hivatalosan is feloszlott, ehhez képest kaptunk szinte a semmiből egy komplett lemezt. De ahhoz, hogy viszonyítani tudjunk a NIN sztoriban, vissza kell mennünk egészen 1999-ig, mikoris a The Fragile című dupla lemez napvilágot látott. A hardcore fanok pontosan tudják, hogy ez volt az utolsó olyan anyag, amit feltétel nélkül a NIN aranykorhoz lehet sorolni. No de mi változott (és mihez képest) a Fragile és a With Teeth (1999-2005) közötti időszakban? Időutazás indul.  Continue reading »
